Synopsis
ME AND MY 3 GIRLS is the story of me – Christopher Smith – and how three performers impacted my life: Lena Horne, Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington. I connect with Lena Horne on a spiritual level. She helped me discover who I am. Billie Holiday resonates with me regarding my experiences of racism, and the way Dinah Washington sang with such emotion touched me deeply. I am Deaf, but my show brings these three dynamic singers to life again through this show. It shows how impactful a performer can be to someone they have never met. These three female performers influenced my journey in this life and helped create a vision for performing a solo show.
