A joyful, moving celebration of Deaf identity and artistry written by Michelle Banks. Performed by VOCA Ensemble as part of the 2024/25 “Beyond Borders” season. Bring family and friends for a vibrant theatrical experience centering Deaf stories and talent.

A fundraiser presented by Visionaries of the Creative Arts in collaboration with Deaf Austin Theatre. All proceeds support the DC run of A Strange Loop.

Mosaic Theater presents the regional premiere of Confederates. Sara is an enslaved rebel turned Union spy. For Confederates, each performance will be followed by powerful conversations with local Black women leaders.

Michelle Banks and Mervin Primeaux-O'Bryant bring their captivating theatrical workshop to Imagination Stage's ARTS FOR ALL Festival. Participants engage in fun, interactive theatre activities and games using American Sign Language, body language, and gestures.

Waterfall is a global ritual, taking place on iconic staircases around the world. Twenty or more dancers cascade slowly together down a staircase. Participants learn movement practices drawing from Butoh, Parkour, Contact Improvisation and Deep Listening before performing at the Exorcist steps in Georgetown.

VOCA and Gallaudet University's Theatre and Dance Program host a virtual panel to discuss casting, accountability, and ethics for Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard-of-hearing actors in the entertainment industry, and how we can work together to improve the casting process for Deaf actors.

Deaf Short Play Festival 2021 is an exciting space for Deaf and hard of hearing playwrights to virtually present their short plays and share their experiences as playwrights. Additionally, VOCA will host virtual panels to discuss the future of the Deaf theater and their plays.
